Why do I do this?
"I have the right to do anything," you say—but not everything is beneficial.
"I have the right to do anything"--but not everything is constructive.
1 Corinthians 10:23
I love being an attorney. But the truth is, though often necessary, not all
legal transactions are beneficial to all parties involved. And some are not
constructive. With that said, I have chosen to focus my career on the
areas of law that I am interested in and feel confident are beneficial and
constructive for my clients as well as other parties.
What motivates me?
I am motivated by my faith, my family, and desire to help others improve their lives. God gave me this opportunity, and I want to use it in a way that glorifies Him.
What about law school?
Gig 'em Aggies!! I was among the first class to graduate from the Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas-- formerly known as the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. Needless to say, my dad was very excited I graduated an Aggie.
What about experience?
In law school I participated in the Family Law Clinic as an associate member of the State Bar of Texas. It was after that experience that I realized that Collaborative Family Law was my preferred method of resolving family differences.
In addition to my family law experience, I worked three years as the President of a electronic discovery firm. I managed all aspects of the business. During my time there I managed, responded to, and helped to avoid many of the legal issues that businesses face. I also created compliance programs, drafted and negotiated contracts, and created the human resources program.
